Exciting moments in the savannah

1-Zonsopgang savanne

The Murchison Falls National Park is sliced in half by the Nile River, creating one of the most spectacular waterfalls in East Africa. With a surface of 3,840 Murchison Falls is Uganda's largest national park.

The area is dominated by rivers, woodland, savannah, wetlands and tropical forest habitats that provide homes for more then 75 different mammal species and 450 bird species.

Large mammals are leopard, elephant, lion, hippopotamus, Rothschild’s giraffe, hartebeest, oribi, warthog, Cape buffalo and Ugandan kob.

During the dictatorship of Idi Amin in the seventies, the wildlife in this park was almost wiped out by soldiers using animals as target practice. Nowadays the wildlife has recovered amazingly well.

The game drive, exclusively organized by Paraa Safari Lodge and lead by guide Amon Coxswain, gave our reporting team some exciting early morning hours in the savannah.
