The secret of Grantown-on-Spey Caravan Park

1-Overzicht Camping Grantown

A place to fall in love with almost immediately is the Grantown-on-Spey Caravan Park, situated in the impressive scenery of the Cairngorm National Park in the heart of the Scottish Highlands. This mood is created by a perfect combination of a quiet setting with mountain views, a beautifully landscaped Park, remarkable spacious pitches with satellite receivers and amazing immaculate state of the art heated toilet and shower blocks.

4A- Isobell & Andy

But the real secret behind this positive feeling is the warm and professional approach by the wardens of this site.

After helping us to set up on this very spacious location he gave us a big smile.
“This is not a special treatment for journalists; this guidance is part of our regular approach. We always want the very best for our guests.”

During our stay at this campsite we found that this location is perfect for exploring on foot large areas along the banks of the River Spey. The shortest distance to the river is about 15 minutes walking.

The cosy town-centre of
Grantown-on-Spey is but a short stroll away and there you’ll find a well-stocked supermarket, a quality butcher, good bakery shops and some bars and restaurants.

5- The Craigh Bar5A-Beryl & Robbie

Not to be missed in Grantown-on-Spey is a visit to The Craig Bar. On Andy’s recommendation we popped in there for a couple of pints and their famous speciality: connoisseur pies. And that was a valuable tip indeed. Not only are the pies delicious but the owner’s particular sense of humour adds to the atmosphere. The bizarre way in which barkeeper Robbie and his mother Beryl interact, kept us there for many hours…
